editing

Hey! So I edited my first trailer visually, and I started to edit the beginning with audio, and I like how it is turning out. I’ve been using CapCut to edit because I feel the most comfortable with that software. Here are some pictures from my editing:

I've filmed all of my remaining shots except the one with fire, which I am filming today, and one of Bea in a graduation gown, which I am doing tomorrow. Since I didn't have those shots while editing, I just used a random clip to fill it in and estimated the amount of time the shot would last.

Besides editing, I also revised my print component. While speaking to my teacher about the component, I realized that most streaming services don't include a tagline in their thumbnail, so I decided to take that out of the thumbnail, and here is my revised print component:

I feel like now these four are more realistic and fit the conventions of a streaming service way better. I also really like how the four thumbnails are so different from each other and show a different aspect of the movie in each one. It's also important to note that streaming services pick which thumbnail to use based on their audience member, or in other words, they cater each thumbnail to fit the likes of the audience. I think the first two thumbnails would be used to cater to an audience who likes upbeat movies, especially coming-of-age films, and the last two would be used to cater to an audience who likes more personal and intimate movies. The four provide a good representation of the film and can be used to capture a range of audience members.

Anyways, I am going to keep editing to have everything done by this Sunday. See you soon!
